I’m always looking for new and different ways to express my ideas. So, when Sequential Comics approached me with the idea of doing a comic book presentation of a chapter from my book Zombie Economics, I jumped at it. It was quite a long process, but it’s finally done.
The comic traces the experience of a young Australian couple from the beginnings of privatisation in the 1980s to an optimistic version of the near future when this zombie idea has finally been laid to rest. They are initially receptive to the promise of private sector efficiency but soon learn that the only people who benefit are the financiers

But a purely digital comic isn’t really a comic, so I got some copies printed (thanks, Mixam printing!). And, as a thank you gift to my paid subscribers, I’ll send you a copy[1}. Just email me at john.quiggin@icloud.com with your physical address details.
And, of course, if you’ve been thinking about upgrading to paid, this is a great opportunity.
fn1. I’m not sure about international mail, as it’s a long time since I’ve sent any. But I hope I can find a way to post it overseas.

Comics are a brilliant idea, and other Australian political organisations really should try the same to get their ideas out. Especially the Greens, my political party.
Loved it! Younger voters are not interested in Sky News or the Murdoch Press thank goodness. My 17 yr old grandson was very impressed with Greens Senator Nick McKim during the election playing fortnite while introducing Green values on Tic Toc. It’s a new savvy generation who don’t want to be left behind with huge Uni debts and no hope of owning a home on an uninhabitable planet. Their media sources are varied so congrats on the new venture. Murdoch may finally be redundant 😀
